Haitian Migrant Farmworkers

This photo document, created in 1984-1985, portrays the lives of Haitian migrant farmworkers who call apartment complexes in South Bay, Florida their "home", and who head north during the summer to pick vegetables in fields of Maryland's Eastern Shore, outside of Salisbury, Maryland. These are the "boat people" who fled Haiti in the 70's and early 80's.

I took these photographs while serving farmworkers on the Eastern Shore as an outreach worker.
