Hot Tub Torah

This work represents what I consider a “photo-ritual”, whereby on the first weekend morning of each month, I seep into the hot tub on my back porch, looking out into the yard at the “same” frame defined by parallel utility wires and the convergence of three trees.  It is fascinating to watch the “same” frame change subtly and dramatically, not just from month to month, with the eternal cycle of the seasons, but from minute to minute. This “photo ritual” helps me (and the viewer) focus on the miraculous within the mundane.  It is a reminder for us to slow down, look closely and appreciate Creation.
