Jewish "Adult Luncheon Club"

These photos were taken at a Jewish senior center on the Lower East Side, called the “Adult Luncheon Club” while I was a student at the International Center of Photography in 1984. The images portray some of the last Jewish immigrants still living in the neighborhood.  I enjoyed visiting the seniors, since they reminded me so much of my own Yiddish speaking  grandparents, great aunts and great uncles, who had lived on the Lower East Side, before moving to the D.C. area.
